  • Provincial Council joint meeting with confreres doing apostolate in Maasai land. The spirit and enthusiasm for the mission was great. The meeting re-affirmed their passion and commitment to the ministry despite challenges related to the nature of the ministry.
  • Inauguration of Poullart Des Places year on the 26th November. It was well marked and well attended. To crown the day, Tengeru Rest House was officially named after Poullart Des Places. From the 26th Nov, 2009, Tengeru Rest house is known as Poullart des Places Centre

The visit of the Superior General of St. Joseph Sisters of Mombasa with one of the members of their Council to the Provincialate.

Bagamoyo

 

Education/Schools

 

Construction:

 

Marian Girls High school

 

  • A new dormitory with the capacity of accommodating 100 students is on the final touches. The school will now have a total number of 750 students.

 

Marian (Kerege) Boys Secondary School

 

  • A dormitory has been added. The school will open its doors for 200 form I & II students in January 2010.
  • Other constructions underway: a laboratory, a library and 4 teachers’ bungalows.

 

Epiphany Pre & Primary School

 

  • Still under construction:  2 storey administration block, a library and a computer laboratory.

 

Marian Hostel and Msalabani Beach

 

  • The roofing of the 5th (and last storey) begins mid December 2009 through January 2010. In the meantime finishing work continues in the rooms. DSC06195.JPG
  • New Msalabani beach facilities (mini-bar, 4 big makuti huts and modern washrooms) will be operational as from Christmas.

 

Spiritan Center

 

Backup water system:

 

A new borehole has been added on with less salty water. Another development is the construction of 10, 000 litre water storage tower which should be functional by mid January 2010.
